AUDITIONS

Competitive dancers must attend our six-week summer dance/conditioning camp and a 50% attendance rate is required to audition.

The dancers work on a variety of skills (conditioning and dance skills) over the course of the six weeks, and most of the skills assessed at auditions are learned during camp. Those skills are listed below.

Dancers who audition MUST also complete an endurance/conditioning test which consists of:
– A cardio fitness test
– 40 push-ups
– 2 minute plank (advanced dancers)
– 1 minute plank (beginner/intermediate dancers)

EXPECTATIONS

Practices will be held for each team/dance routine on a weekly basis. Participation is essential. Although absences may occur, the team can only be as successful if all members participate and learn the choreography together.

If a dancer misses a class, they are responsible to make up any missed choreography on their own time. (If a class is canceled due to inclement weather, every attempt to schedule a makeup will be made, but please recognize it may not be held on a regular class night). Ballet and tricks classes are required to be a team member!

Fees to be part of the competitive team include the following: choreography/music fees, costumes, warm-ups, and competition registration.

CHOREOGRAPHY & MUSIC FEES

The fee for the choreography this year is $75 per dancer, per routine. These fees are due at the dancer’s first choreography session.

The cost to mix music is $40 per dancer a year. This is due at their first choreography session. (Please note this is NOT $40 per dance!)

COSTUMES

The cost of each costume is approximately $60.

WARM-UPS

The cost of the warm up jacket is about $75, including embroidery. This fee is due at the time of the warm-ups being ordered.

COMPETITION REGISTRATION

This total of the cost of the costume per dance and registration per venue/dance will be divided into 8 equal payments per student that will be paid monthly in addition to the monthly tuition payments. If there is an over/under estimate, those adjustments will be made in May with either an additional bill or a tuition credit.

NOTE: Additional costs to consider as a team member are dance shoes per routine, tights, earrings, hotel stays (not required), and any workshops the team may attend.
